About Science of Shape
Science of Shape is the one man effort of Tyler Horter, who plays guitar (well), bass (alright), piano (poorly), and twiddles knobs on plugins and effects pedals (anyone's guess). He also hates writing about himself in the third person, as you're supposed to do for these band bios.

Basically, I write and record instrumental rock that blends layers of guitars with washes of noise and whatever else I can get my hands on. I could go into more detail, but you can just head over to the music section and take a look for yourself.

The general idea here is that the songs are, and generally speaking, always will be free. I plan to upload a new one on the first of each month, so check back periodically for new music. If you dig the tunes, you can head over to the merch page and pick up a T-shirt or other miscellaneous items with the words "Science of Shape" branded on them, in big, bold, proclamatory letters.

I'm essentially applying the webcomic business model to music. Distribute the content on the internet for free, and make back the money you spend on hosting and other expenses through merchandise sales. As I understand, most bands make between little and no money on CD sales anyway, so why bother? I would, of course, love to do this full time some day, but that's something of a pie in the sky dream right now, and in the mean time I'll gladly settle for having people listen to the music that I pour so much time and energy into.

So download the music I'm offering, and if you like it, tell a friend, or pick up a shirt.

Additionally, if you're interested in using some of my music in a movie, remix, or whatever else, drop me a line at tyler at scienceofshape dot com. Feel free to send any correspondence that way, actually.

From time to time I get some of my friends to play instruments I can't. They are:
Jake - Drums
Nathan - Drums
Rockel - Violin
